2nd Officer

Candidates must possess a valid STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch Certificate and have a minimum of 12 months of sea experience as an Officer of the Watch on deep-sea vessels. Updated STCW qualifications and an unrestricted ENG1 medical certificate are required. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for supervising deck crew and coordinating with senior officers. Proficiency in electronic chart systems and vessel management software is also necessary. Desirable qualifications include a US Visa, Ship’s Safety Officer and Security Officer Certificates, DP Officer qualification/experience, and familiarity with ISM and ISPS codes. Experience on UK flagged vessels is preferred.
